I fell in love with science during my 10th grade genetics class.  While working in a research lab as an undergraduate student, I realized that I liked the science but did not enjoy the lab work.  Most of my classmates after graduation took one of 2 paths: more education or a job as a research technician.  I didn’t care for those paths, so I opted for something else.  I took a sales position with a local business newspaper and quickly realized that I enjoyed the challenge of sales. I eventually joined a small biotech sales department.  As the company grew, I was asked to move from sales to marketing.  While in the marketing role I decided that I needed to learn more about business operations, so I enrolled in an evening MBA program.  After 8 years, I joined another start up in the medical device field.  With this company, I continued to expand my experience by working in multiple roles within the organization.  When I had the opportunity to join Lonza’s sales team 9 years ago, I was excited to be back working with scientists. With Lonza, I get to enjoy both of my passions for science and sales.

What I love most about my job:

I love that I have found a job that allows me to bridge my passion for science and sales. I get to meet a lot of researchers and learn about their research. I get to be of the science providing them with solutions to get their work done.
