Did my PhD in Biotechnology/Cancer in Houston Methodist Research Insitute via a research exchange program from my University (Tecnologico de Monterrey). Rotated in several labs and did my thesis in Retinoblastoma with Dr. Chevez-Barrios from the Pathology department. After graduating I received an offer to work in the Immunotherapy platform lead by Dr. James Allison in the Immunopathology department. After ~2 years I decided to transition into Industry and got a position as a Scientist in Apocell (Now Precision for Medicine). After a year, I talked to my manager about my interests in pursuing a more career that included business aspects. Apocell was acquired by Precision for Medicine, and after a period of training, my title was changed to Scientific Liaison.

What I love most about my job:

I really enjoy being involved in scientific matters at the same time that I’m able to communicate with clients. I get to do science, communicate and learn about real world applications.
